Description
The Encoder Strip for Epson L130 / L110 / L310 Series is a replacement transparent positioning strip used by the printer's carriage-control system to accurately track the horizontal position of the printhead carriage during printing. Fine timing marks printed along the strip are read by an optical encoder sensor mounted on the moving carriage. If the strip becomes dirty, scratched, stretched, bent, torn, incorrectly installed or contaminated with ink, the printer may lose accurate carriage-position information and develop symptoms such as shifted printing, overlapping text, horizontal misalignment, abnormal carriage movement, carriage impact against the printer frame or inconsistent print quality.
