Description
The Encoder Strip for HP Smart Tank 580 Series is a precision replacement carriage-positioning strip designed for compatible HP Smart Tank inkjet printers. Also known as a carriage encoder strip, CR scale, encoder film, timing strip or carriage positioning scale, this thin transparent component contains extremely fine optical reference markings that are read by the encoder sensor on the moving printhead carriage. During printing, the printer continuously reads these markings to determine the exact horizontal position and movement speed of the carriage, allowing the printheads to place Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow ink droplets accurately on the page.
