Description
The Disk Encoder Wheel for HP 600 Series Printers is a precision replacement timing and position-sensing component used in compatible HP inkjet printer paper-feed mechanisms. Also known as an encoder disk, timing disk, timing disc or paper-feed encoder wheel, this transparent circular disc contains fine reference markings that are read by an optical encoder sensor to monitor roller rotation and paper-feed movement. Accurate encoder-wheel feedback helps the printer control paper advancement, line spacing and feed timing during printing. If the encoder wheel becomes contaminated with ink, dust, grease or fingerprints, or if it becomes scratched, cracked, warped, loose or incorrectly aligned, the printer may experience irregular paper movement, incorrect line spacing, horizontal banding, skewed print output, repeated feed errors or other mechanical positioning problems. Replacing a physically damaged encoder wheel can help restore accurate feed timing and stable printer operation. Because this is a delicate precision component that must remain clean, flat and correctly aligned with the optical sensor, careful installation is essential and professional technician installation is recommended.
