The Canon GI-73 Original Ink Bottle series is a genuine Canon six-colour dye-based photo ink system designed specifically for the Canon PIXMA G570 and PIXMA G670 MegaTank photo printers. The GI-73 range consists of Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Red and Grey inks, providing a wider colour gamut and smoother tonal reproduction than conventional four-colour ink systems. The dedicated Red ink helps improve reproduction of reds, oranges and other warm photographic tones, while the dedicated Grey ink helps produce smoother grayscale transitions, more neutral monochrome photographs and improved shadow detail. Each genuine Canon GI-73 bottle contains 60 ml of dye-based ink and is designed for Canon's integrated refillable ink-tank system. Canon's colour-specific bottle-tip design helps prevent accidental mixing by allowing each bottle to fit the corresponding colour tank. Ink filling starts automatically when the bottle is correctly positioned and stops when the tank is full on compatible printers. Canon rates the replacement GI-73 ink system for up to approximately 3,800 borderless 4 x 6 inch high-quality photographs per complete replacement ink set. For A4 document printing, Canon lists approximately 3,700 pages for Black and up to approximately 8,000 pages as the applicable composite colour yield.
